Maier USA Factory Location
Maier Manufacturing, Inc. is located in Northern California's beautiful and historic Sierra Nevada Foothills, a nexus of the 49er Gold Rush and home to some of the best riding in the world.
The California Sierra Foothills
Our backyard is the Tahoe National Forest, where we enjoy exploring the scenic and challenging 1,000+ mile offroading trail system. The Nevada County Woods Riders, based out of Grass Valley, is a member of the American Motorcycle Association’s (AMA) District 36 and helps protect and perserve this beautiful riding area.
Not far in virtually every direction are thousands of acres of dunes - the Oregon Dunes to the north, Glamis Dunes to the south, and Nevada's Sand Mountain and deserts to the east. There's no shortage of sand for testing our ATV, UTV and dirt bike products.
Northern California is also home to several roadracing courses, including Infineon Raceway (previously known as Sears Point) in the Napa's Wine Country, Thunderhill Raceway (in Willows, Ca) and the world-reknown Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway.
A Brief History of Maier
Founded by Charles A Maier in 1972, the genesis of Maier Manufacturing took place in a small one-car garage in San Carlos, California. The dirtbike and streetbike communities were quick to recognize Maier's quality products, and the company soon expanded into a larger facility in Redwood City, California. In 1982, as production demands continued to grow, Charlie moved the company to Grass Valley, California, where we still reside today.
Family Owned and Operated
Maier USA continues to be a family owned and operated business. Brothers George and Mark Maier have been with the company from the beginning and remain an integral part of the company's forward momentum. The youngest of the four Maier brothers, Jim Maier, returned to the company in 1996 after gaining valuable experience in the sales field and is a valued asset of the company. Charlie's eldest son, Jesse Maier, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and joined the company in 2003 after spending a decade working with corporations in the Silicon Valley's Tech Industry. George's son, Jason Maier, grew up in Grass Valley and came on board in 2003.
A Dominant Force
Today, Maier USA is the world's dominant force in aftermarket ATV and UTV bodywork! Additionally, Maier continues to produce products for other segments of the Powersport Industry, and we take on a wide array of custom jobs in other industries as well.
